Rob Thompson enters the Hall of Fame as part of a core group of players who helped change the culture of the Men's Soccer program and make Mount Saint Mary a perennial power within the Skyline Conference.

Thompson appeared in 74 games for the Knights over the course of his four-year career and scored six goals and produced 12 points out of the back for the Knights. He capped his career with the program's first ever conference crown and berth into the NCAA Tournament, earning First Team All-Skyline Conference recognition along the way.

A steady influence on the backline for the Knights, Thompson anchored the unit that set the program record for shutouts in a season in 2011 and then matched the mark in both 2012 and 2013.

Thompson's memory as a Knight include living with his teammates and the beginning of the Kevin Longacre area. Thompson also lists the season opening victory as a sophomore along with anticipation of his senior season which culminated with the Skyline Conference Championship.

Proud memories include winning the first conference title in program history with my best friends. Coming back from injury to be a three-year starter under Coach Longacre and turning the program around after starting off 2-14 during my freshman year to Conference Champions as a senior.

When asked what being a student-athlete taught to him, Thompson replied, "Time management, teamwork, being able to juggle school commitments, athletic commitments, part time job, friend/family time. Leadership which I built from MSMC soccer."

After graduating from the Mount, Thompson moved back to his home on Long Island and began his first company. He currently runs a security company with his business partner that buys real estate in Newburgh and leases the properties to Mount Saint Mary students.

Thompson currently lives with two of his former teammates and is raising his Berne Doodle Beau.

Thompson graduated from the Mount in 2014 with a degree in Criminology.
