Mount Saint Mary Athletics Hall of Fame
Lindsay Searle McHugh play an iatrical role in the success of the Mount Saint Mary College Women's Tennis team from 2007-10. She helped lead the Knights to three unblemished Skyline Conference seasons and to a pair of NCAA Tournaments.

Over a four year career with the Knights, Lindsay helped lead the Knights to a remarkable 63-10 overall record and a 31-1 mark against Skyline Conference opponents. The team posted a 19-3 mark in 2009-10, including an 8-0 mark in conference play, earning the program's first ever berth into the NCAA Tournament. A season later, the Knights followed up their first appearance on the national stage with a 15-4 mark and 7-0 league mark, returning to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in program history.

Individually, Lindsay put together a sterling 53-15 mark in singles play over the course of her career and added a 46-18 mark in doubles action for the Knights. Lindsay won at least 12 singles matches in three of her four seasons and posted the program's record for singles wins during the 2010-11 season. The singles mark of 53 stood until the 2012-13 season.

Lindsay earned All-Skyline Conference recognition in each of her four seasons with the Mount, earning Second Team recognition as a freshman and a senior and landed on the First Team list as both a sophomore and a junior. Lindsay stands second all-time at the Mount in singles wins (53), fifth in doubles wins (46) and third in combined wins (99).

Lindsay lists winning the Skyline Conference and making the NCAA Tournament as well and earning First Team All-Skyline Conference honors as important achievements in her time as a Knight, but adds that completing her nursing degree while being a student-athlete as one of her proudest moments at the Mount.

"Tennis enabled me to adapt quickly to new challenges at different hospitals during my travel nursing career and taught me time management skills to balance school, work and sports," she stated. "Tennis taught me determination which carried through in my career with successful completion of my doctorate degree in nursing and helped me in the pursuit of excellence," Lindsay continued.

Lindsay graduated from Mount Saint Mary in 2011 with a degree in Nursing and completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Duquesne University in July.

Lindsay worked as a traveling nurse in Connecticut, New York City and Atlanta for two years and currently works in Lexington , Va. as a family Nurse Practitioner in an Urgent Care facility. She is married to former Mount Saint Mary College Assistant Men's Basketball Coach Chris McHugh, the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Washington and Lee, and the couple welcomed their first daughter, Lyla, on July 17, 2019.
