Donte Howell had a standout four-year career for the Men's Basketball program that saw it match the program record for wins in a season with 23 in 2011-12 and claim the ECAC Championship title in the same season.
 
Howell appeared in 113 games over the course of his career and averaged 10.9 points per game, scoring 1,235 points in his career. He added 430 assists, 288 rebounds and 180 steals over the course of his career as a Knight.
 
Howell closed his career ninth all-time in scoring at the Mount and currently stands 10th on the list. He enters the Hall of Fame third on the Mount's all-time assists list and is currently fifth on the program's steals list.
 
Over a four-year career, Howell received First Team All-Skyline Conference recognition on two occasions and as a senior finished the year ranked 48th nationally in assists per game (4.8), 73rd nationally in free-throw attempts (171) and 93rd nationally in free-throws made (121). As a senior he also picked up All-Met Writers distinction and landed on the NABC Atlantic Regional Second Team.
 
Looking back on his career, Howell lists 6:00 a.m. practices prior to 8:00 a.m. class, Hanging out in Aquinas with friends, Chicken Patty day in Aquinas, hitting the game winning shot in a 68-66 win over Sage in 2012 and beating St. Joseph's-L.I. 99-61 in February of 2012, handing the Golden Eagles their first conference loss of the season as important memoires.
 
Important achievements in his career include being ranked inside the top-10 in points, steals and assists, winning the 2012 ECAC Championship and graduating from the Mount with a degree in mathematics.
 
"Being a student athlete has taught me how to set my priorities straight and how to take responsibility for my actions. It allowed me to keep my life in order, made me want to teach kids to do  the same and led to buying my own house on my own."
 
After earning his degree form the Mount, he played in a Played in a Pro Exposure Tournament in Gorizia, Italy where my team won the championship and I received the MVP of the tournament.
 
Currently, Howell is teaching Middle School Physical Education at Democracy Prep Endurance in New York City and is coaching the team's basketball team.
