Audra (Woodruff) Smith helped build the Mount Saint Mary Women's Tennis program into a consistent contender in the Skyline Conference over a four year career spanning 2000-03. She led the Knights to a 44-11 (.800) overall record over her four years and a dominant 20-2 (.909) conference mark, with Mount Saint Mary claiming the Skyline Conference Championship in both 2002 and 2003.
Â
Audra posted a career 44-9 singles record over her career, including a combined 18-4 combined record in 2001 on her way to being named the Skyline Conference Player of the Year. She posted a 12-1 singles record as a sophomore and in 2003 as a senior, she went 15-1 in singles play on her way to being named the Skyline Conference Tournament MVP.
Â
Audra was made an All-Skyline Conference selection in three of her four seasons with the Knights and in 2002 set the then record for career doubles wins and matched the career mark for singles victories. As a senior, Audra set the then career mark for singles and doubles wins after posting a combined .839 winning percentage as a senior.
Â
To date, Audra still ranks in the top-10 all-time at Mount Saint Mary in victories, ranking fifth in singles triumphs (44), ninth in doubles wins (33) and 10th in combined victories (77).
Â
"Playing tennis at Mount Saint Mary was a fabulous experience. We were a scrappy team who showed up in the school van for competitions and ended up being VERY successful. We played on public courts with huge cracks in them and we didn't mind a bit, it was all just so positive."
Â
Audra has two very proud moments as a student-athlete at Mount Saint Mary. First, is winning Skyline Conference Player of the Year as a sophomore following the 2001 season. Second, and possibly sweeter, was earning Skyline Conference Tournament MVP honors following the team's championship win in 2003.
Â
"I remember the last point that sealed our win, we all just jumped and cheered and cried. We were proud and probably cried because it was all over. It was a really wonderful time in my life to feel a part of such a strong and confident team of women."Â
Â
After graduation from Mount Saint Mary, Audra moved to New York City and pursued a career in TV production. As a freelancer she worked on shows such as Live! With Regis and Kelly and Wife Swap in New York. In 2008, Audra moved to Los Angeles and worked on shows Last Comic Standing and most notably was part of the core team that created and formatted the Emmy Winning Undercover Boss.
Â
Currently, Audra lives in Sayville, N.Y. with her husband Courtney, whom set met while in Los Angeles, and their daughter Sunny and (great) dog Gilbert. Audra and Courtney were married in 2011 and welcomed Sunny in 2013.
Â
Audra is an Executive Producer working in unscripted television and primarily works on shows such as Food Network Star, Rachel vs. Guy celebrity Cook Off and Rachel Ray's Kids Cook Off.Â
Â
"As a producer I am ALWAYS part of a team. I truly believe that my time as a student-athlete and captain has helped me get to Executive Producer. I love managing a team and always lead by example, which is exactly what I was taught by all my coaches."
