Mount Saint Mary Athletics Hall of Fame
Dan Twomey was a long tenured member in Mount Saint Mary Athletics, working with the school from 1995-2017. Twomey started off as an assistant women's basketball coach, helping to maintain statistics while also being a member of the New York Fire Department. During his five seasons as an assistant coach, the Knights went 109-29 and were the first team in program history to qualify for the NCAA Division III Tournament. Once retired from the FDNY, he moved into athletic administration as the Assistant Athletic Director/SID from 2000-2005. From 2005-2013 Twomey was the Knight’s Associate Athletic Director. Twomey then became the department's Athletic Director from 2013-2017. While in administration at the Mount, he oversaw the installation of the turf at Kaplan Field, a new baseball/softball complex, scoreboards in the Kaplan Center gymnasium, and immense overall growth of the athletic department as a whole.
