NEW YORK, N.Y. - Mount Saint Mary junior outside hitter Julianna Simone of the women's volleyball team was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Simone was the leading force behind a Knights squad that compiled new program records this past week. The Knights have opened up their season 5-0 and winning 15 straight sets to start the year, a new program record. Mount Saint Mary also earned its first-ever victory over Western Connecticut State on Saturday as part of a two-match sweep at the MSMC tri-match.

Simone was a force throughout the week, totaling 29 kills, 35 digs, five aces and three assists across three matches. Her performance helped the Knights remain unbeaten while continuing their record-setting start to the season.
