RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's basketball team went on the road and defeated Mount Saint Vincent for their third straight win.

Mount Saint Mary looked to feed off of their hot streak to begin the New Year as they traveled to take on the University of Mount Saint Vincent.
Sara Cashin got the Knights scoring going as they started off hot as a team with a quick 6-0 run.
Reese Mayer was aggressive early on, attacking the paint all game long as part of her career-high 21-point performance. The Dolphins were able to hang around as they played much better this match than their record indicates.
Keira Frias would get on the board with a three-point make as she had two of the Knights' three makes from beyond the arc this game, as they led 20-14 after the first quarter.
The Mount dominated to open the second period of play, leading by as much as 11 points in the quarter. Four different Knights would reach double-digit scoring figures, with everyone doing their job on the offensive end. Mount Saint Vincent ended the quarter on a 12-2 run, as Mount Saint Mary led just 35-32 at the half after not making a field goal in the last 3:46 of the half.

Angelina Donato on the fast break after a steal, as Mayer had a picture-perfect game with 4 assists and 0 turnovers on top of leading the team in scoring. The reigning Skyline Player of the Week,
Maggie Trinkaus, was a force on the glass this game with 12 total rebounds, recording her third double-double of the season with 11 points. The Knights would score 10 unanswered points, including 5 from
Brianna Guglielmo, who had 14 on the game to go along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. The Mount outscored the Dolphins 19-12 in the quarter as they led 54-44 after three.
The Knights continued their great play on both ends of the court, only allowing Mount Saint Vincent to score one field goal in the first 5:35 of the fourth. They shot a solid 43.9% from the field, improving their record to 8-0 on the season when shooting above 40%. The Knights outscored the Dolphins 19-12 once again in the quarter, shooting 9-12 from the line. Mount Saint Mary would defeat Mount Saint Vincent 73-56 on the road to extend its win streak to 3 games heading into a Skyline Conference Championship rematch with Merchant Marine on Thursday night in the Kaplan Center.
