Box Score NEWBURGH, N.Y.- The Mount Saint Mary College Men's soccer team opened the 2015 Skyline Conference season with a 6-1 victory over St. Josephs College-Brooklyn, at Kaplan Field. The win moves the Knights to 2-5-1 and 1-0 in the conference, while the Bears drop to 0-3-1 and 0-1 in conference play.
The scoring for the Knights started in the first half when senior forward
Michael Ennis (Carmel, N.Y.) finished a shot into the lower right corner of the net after receiving a pass from freshman midfielder
Connor Lynch (Clifton Park, N.Y). Ennis finished the game with two goals and an assist.
At the end of the first half the Knights lead the game 2-0, after a goal by sophomore forward
Eric Hayes (Westhampton, N.Y.).
The Knights opened the second half with a goal by freshman midfielder
Michael Blaauboer (Latham, N.Y.) who finished off a pass from freshman midfielder
Fred Stark (Hollis, N.Y.). Stark finished the game with three assists.
The Bears got their lone tally midway through the second half when sophomore forward Cesar Ovideo (South Ozone Park, N.Y.) dribbled passed the goalie and finished into the empty net.
The Knights then went on to score the last three goals of the game. Senior forward
Adam Palumbo (East Islip, N.Y.) scored two of the three goals with Ennis knocking in his second goal of the game.
Junior goalie
Tyler Biscone (Garden City, N.Y.) picked up his first win in just his second start of the season.
The Knights will be playing at Vassar College in their next matchup Wednesday Sept. 23 in a non-conference matchup. The games start time is 4 p.m.
