The Mount Saint Mary Knights traveled to Kings Point on Tuesday to take on the Merchant Marine Mariners for their fifth conference game this season. The Knights, looking to bounce back after a loss on Saturday, would fall behind early after a 12th minute goal from Mariners junior Cal Lutz. The goal propelled Merchant Marine to a 1-0 lead, though it was not a lead they would hold for long. Guilherme Martins answered back for the Knights just six minutes later, netting an assist from junior William Zelaya to pull the Knights level at 1-1. Despite a scoring chances for Mariners in the 23rd and 38th minutes that were turned aside by Knights freshman goalie Landon Mabe, the game would head into halftime at 1-1.

After failing to convert on a pair of scoring chances in the final 20 minutes of the first half, the Merchant Marine wasted no time opening the scoring in the second half. Mariners junior Colin Robertson scored on a set play in the 47th minute, scoring on an assist from sophomore Jackson Justice. The Mariners, leading 2-1, stayed in front until the 68th minute when Martins scored his second goal of the contest to tie the game once again. Martins has been on a tear, scoring four goals in the Knights' last three games. William Zelaya again recorded an assist, his second of the contest and the third in his last two games. All three assists have been to Martins. There were scoring chances for both teams in the final eighteen minutes: the Mariners were again stifled by Mabe in a 79th minute chance, and Martins nearly missed a hat trick in the 84th minute. Neither team could convert, and the game would end in a 2-2 draw.

The Knights are on the road once again this Saturday, where they'll take on Purchase College at 12:00 pm
