RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The defending Skyline Conference Champions are back in the tournament, looking to take home their second straight title. The Mount Saint Mary College women's volleyball team (16-19, 6-3 Skyline) enters this year's tournament as the No. 5 seed. Tonight, they challenge No. 4 College of Mount Saint Vincent (8-17, 6-3 Skyline) in the conference quarterfinals for a chance at reaching the semifinals, which will take place on Saturday, Nov. 9, as part of the Fall Festival hosted by Mount Saint Mary College. The finals will be held immediately following Saturday's semifinal matches.

The Knights and Dolphins squared off back on Oct. 27. Less than 24 hours after playing three matches, the Knights fell to Mount Saint Vincent, which took home a 3-2 decision in a tight five-set match. Coming into Wednesday's match on normal rest could be the difference in this postseason contest.

Sophomore Kayla Kurka (Islip, N.Y.) comes into Wednesday's match on a tear, hitting at a .500 clip in the Knights' last four matchups, including 39 kills across 12 sets. Freshman outside hitter Rachel Sabatini (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) leads the Knights with 286 kills on the season, while junior outside hitter Katie Lynch (Island Park, N.Y.) is right behind her with 227 on the year. Freshman setter Claire Scully (Bloomfield, N.J.) leads the team with 640 assists, while sophomore libero Jen Gries (Hicksville, N.Y.) has been the Knights' best defender with 416 digs.

Maria Leineweber enters Wednesday's match leading the Dolphins with 204 kills on the season, but Ashleigh Scozzari holds the team lead with 3.11 kills per set.  Zana Daluz is the team's leading setter with 479 assists on the season, and she has contributed 210 digs.
