GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Mount Saint Mary College women's volleyball team opened the season with a pair of losses at the Battlefield Classic on Friday.  The Knights droppd a five-set match to Penn State Altoona and then lost in straight sets to Adrian.

Senior Mary Ann Raftery (Long Beach, N.Y.) led the way in both matches, posting 20 kills against Penn State Altoona and then nine more against Adrian.  Senior Lauren Halverson (Patchogue, N.Y.) totaled 50 assists in the two matches, while freshman Jen Gries (Hicksville, N.Y.) added double-digit digs in each match.

The Knights continue play Saturday, taking on host Gettysburg at 10:00 a.m. and the University of Scranton at noon.
