Brandon Mincher (Bayport, N.Y.) scored what proved to be the game-winner in the 30th minute of play, as the Knights notched a 1-0 win over St. Vincent College in the season opener for both teams.

Sean Lockwood (Manahawkin, N.J.) crossed the ball towards the top of the box, where Mincher was waiting. Mincher headed the ball past Bearcats' senior keeper Clemente Meija (New York, N.Y.) to give the Knights a 1-0 lead that they would keep for the remainder of the game.
In the first half the Knights held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks and managed to rip five shots. The Mount maintained their offensive advantage in the second half, finishing with a 10-7 edge in shots. Mincher and senior

Matt Darling (Staatsburg, N.Y.) was up to the test. Darling finished with one save to preserve the shutout, while Clemente made four saves in the loss.
With today's win, the Knights advance to the Championship Game of the Frostburg State University Tournament where they will face the winner of tonight's game between Frostburg State and Buffalo State. The Championship Game is set for tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
