NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College swimming teams won 21 of the 22 events during Friday's meet, as the Knights defeated York College. The men's team earned a 90-54 victory, while the women's team captured an 87-66 win.
On the men's side, senior
Brian Heitman (Ramsey, N.J.) and junior
Enrique Naudy (Monroe, N.Y.) were both triple winners. Heitman took home the 1000 freestyle (11:39.00), the 200 individual medley (2:22.08), and the 500 freestyle (5:40.51). Naudy was victorious in the 200 freestyle (2:07.84), the 100 butterfly (1:00.33), and the 100 backstroke (1:01.20).
Freshman
Mark Bohlinger (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) narrowly edged freshman
Conor Dowd (Massapequa, N.Y.) in the 50 freestyle, taking first place points with a time of 24.48. Bohlinger also won the 100 freestyle in 56.22. Freshman
Taylor Callahan (Middlebury, Conn.) took the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.97.
For the women, sophomore
Brianna Perazella (Cheshire, Conn.) and junior
Censi Danner (Saugerties, N.Y.) were both double winners. Perazella was fastest in the 200 freestyle (2:10.01) and the 500 freestyle (5:47.16), while Danner snagged victories in the 100 freestyle (58.49) and the 100 breaststroke (1:12.40).
The Knights had four other individual event winners, including sophomore
Kassie Kayal (Wayne, N.J.) who edged the field in the 50 freestyle with a time of 28.46. Junior
Alexis Burgos (Jamaica, N.Y.) took the 1000 freestyle (14:27.61), junior
Laura Condon (Syracuse, N.Y.) won the 200 individual medley (2:51.76), and freshman
Stephi Economos (Hurley, N.Y.) posted a first-place time of 1:08.06 in the 100 butterfly.
Up next for the Knights is a trip to Purchase College and a date with their Skyline Conference rivals. The meet is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 6.
