BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The Mount Saint Mary College men's swim team was bested by Brooklyn College 170-35 in their first meet of the season.
Freshman
Ethan Taranto was the top scorer for the men's side with three second-place finishes. Taranto competed in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:01.71, the 500 Yard Freestyle at 5:47.35, and the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 12:01.53. Freshman
Marcus Innamorato also added a second-place finish in the 200 Yard IM with a time of 2:32.75, as well as two third-place finishes in the 100 Yard Freestyle and 100 Yard Breaststroke.
"I'm proud of the way we competed today, especially in the first meet of the season," said Head Coach
Chris Mance. "I saw a lot of good things we can build off of heading into our next meet."
Sophomore
Kyle Giuliano placed third in both the 100 Yard Backstroke (1:15.26) and 200 Yard Freestyle (2:20.91). In his three races,
Joseph Scarola was able to come away with a top-three placement in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:06.27.
