NEWBURGH, N.Y. — Women's Swimming hosted John Jay College and York College yesterday afternoon for their final home meet of the season, picking up a win against York (95-12) and falling to John Jay (94-84). The Knights celebrated Cayla Nicholas, Angelina Mainiero, Antonia Licardi and Stefanie Sommer during the meet as seniors of the program.
Sommer took the first win of the meet in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 13:25.61, before taking second in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:17.18.
Licardi had back-to-back first place swims, in the 100-yard freestyle (56.78) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:11.90). She then took second in the 100-yard breaststroke at a time of 1:17.78.
Mainiero placed first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:21.93) and the 500-yard freestyle (6:19.06).
Nicholas won the 50-yard freestyle (25.96), 100-yard butterfly (1:06.97).
Kate Cerven picked up second place finish in the 50-yard freestyle at 30.31.
Up next the Knights head into their post-season, traveling to SUNY Purchase for day one of the Skyline Conference Championship Meet on Jan. 24.
