DELHI, N.Y. — Women's Swimming traveled to SUNY Delhi for their Fall Invitational Meet this afternoon. The Knights won the meet with a total of 245 points, ahead of Bard College in second place with 217 points, SUNY Delhi in third (151) and Herkimer Community College in fourth (71).
Cayla Nicholas walked away with two new pool records at SUNY Delhi, dropping the 50-yard backstroke record from 32.70 to 31.34 and the 100-yard individual medley from 1:10.06 to 1:07.73. In addition to those first-place swims, she also won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:10.19.
Stefanie Sommer had the first individual win of the day in the 1,000-yard freestyle at 13:22.60.
Angelina Mainiero picked up two first-place finishes, in the 200-yard freestyle (2:19.51) and the 500-yard freestyle (6:21.16).
Ruvarashe Gondo took care of breaststroke events today, winning the 50-yard (37.07) and 100-yard races (1:26.17).
Kate Cerven had a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:09.60.
Mainiero, Cerven, Sommer and Nicholas closed out the meet with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay, touching out Bard at 1:54.39.
The Knights will host SUNY Delhi, Brooklyn College and York College tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. in the Kaplan Center Pool.
