NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Women's swimming competed in the Metropolitan Collegiate Swimming Championships, where senior
Antonia Licardi took home two 1st place finishes, as the Knights placed 6th.
Day One Recap
Day one could not have gotten off to a better start, with
Antonia Licardi and
Cayla Nicholas taking 1st (24.67) and 2nd (24.96) place in the 50 Yard Freestyle out of 24 competitors.
Kate Cerven also competed in the 50 Yard Free, placing 16th.
The 400 Yard Medley Relay team of
Stefanie Sommer,
Angelina Mainiero,
Cayla Nicholas, and
Antonia Licardi finished 4th (4:29.18).
In the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay,
Kate Cerven,
Antonia Licardi,
Cayla Nicholas, and
Angelina Mainiero would take home a 1st place finish with a time of 1:43.07.
Angelina Mainero and
Stefanie Sommer swam in the 500 Yard Freestyle, with Mainiero finishing 8th (5:55.01) and Sommer 13th (6:13.77).
Ruvarashe Gondo competed in the 200 Yard IM, swimming to a 10th-place finish (2:40.83) as part of group B.
Day Two Recap
On day two,
Antonia Licardi,
Angelina Mainiero, and
Kate Cerven competed in the 200 Yard Freestyle, finishing 2nd (1:59.73), 6th (2:10.40), and 16th (2:26.81).
Ruvarashe Gondo would round out the top of group A with a time of 1:20.63 in 8th place.
In the 100 Yard Backstroke,
Stefanie Sommer would place 11th (1:09.28).
The relay team of
Stefanie Sommer,
Ruvarashe Gondo,
Antonia Licardi, and
Cayla Nicholas finished 4th in the 200 Yard Medley.
Cayla Nicholas would conclude day two with a 5th place finish (1:04.61) in the 100 Yard Butterfly.
Day Three Recap
To start day three,
Angelina Mainiero and
Stefanie Sommer competed in the 200 Yard Backstroke, finishing 8th (2:35.67) and 9th (2:32.02), respectively.
Antonia Licardi swam to her second 1st place finish (53.62) in the 100 Yard Freestyle, with
Cayla Nicholas taking 3rd (55.48) and
Kate Cerven coming in 18th place.
In the 200 Yard Breaststroke,
Ruvarashe Gondo would come in 12th with a time of 3:02.97.
Angelina Mainiero,
Cayla Nicholas,
Stefanie Sommer, and
Antonia Licardi placed 5th together in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay.
