NEWBURGH, N.Y. — Women's Swimming hosted Brooklyn College, SUNY Delhi and York College for a quad meet this afternoon, placing second overall with 247 points. The Knights were outnumbered by Brooklyn (423) but finished ahead of SUNY Delhi (90) and York College (22).
The 400-yard medley relay team of
Stefanie Sommer,
Ruvarashe Gondo,
Cayla Nicholas and
Antonia Licardi started the meet off with a second-place finish at a time of 4:46.34.
Licardi swept three individual events this afternoon, winning the 200-yard freestyle (2:10.97), 50-yard freestyle (25.77) and the 50-yard butterfly (27.84).
Angelina Mainiero took first in for the distance swims, clocking in at 13:06.78 in the 1,000-yard freestyle and 6:25.12 in the 500-yard freestyle.
Sommer took first in the 100-yard backstroke (1:11.32) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:39.32).
Nicholas finished first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:49.94, and the 100-yard freestyle at 58.17.
Gondo picked up second-place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:24.47), the 200-yard breaststroke (3:09.00) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:48.07).
Looking ahead, the Knights will be back in action for a meet at home on January 17, against John Jay College and York College at 12:00 p.m.
