NEWBURGH, N.Y. — Men's Swimming placed third overall in their quad meet at home this afternoon against Brooklyn College, SUNY Delhi and York College. The Knights earned 200 points, falling behind SUNY Delhi in second (207) and Brooklyn College in first (594), and ahead of York College in fourth with 34 points.
Joseph Scarola picked up a second-place finish in his first individual event of the meet, the 1,000-yard freestyle, at 12:23.25. He also finished third in his 500-yard freestyle, at a time of 6:08.68.
Michael D'Ambrosio took second in the 100-yard backstroke, (1:02.31), the 200-yard backstroke (2:22.05) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:21.10).
Paul D'Ambrosio had his share of runner-up swims, in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.11) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:48.96).
Marcus Innamorato placed second in the 200-yard freestyle, coming in at 2:07.59, before a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (2:37.56).
Kyle Giuliano picked up third in his 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:43.50 and the 50-yard butterfly, at 28.60.
Closing out the meet in the 400-yard freestyle relay,
Paul D'Ambrosio, Innamorato, Giuliano and
Michael D'Ambrosio finished in second place with a time of 3:49.50.
