Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Soccer team begins Skyline Conference play and opens a season-long four game home stand on Tuesday night when it plays host to Yeshiva. The Knights then host Neumann and Pratt on the weekend with Live Stats available for all contests.
At A Glance: The Mount enters conference play on Tuesday at 3-2-1 overall on the season and is coming off a 2-0 road non-conference loss at New York University on Saturday. The Knights have won their only other home game prior to Tuesday and stand at 0-2 on the road and 2-0-1 in neutral site contests.
Mount Saint Mary is outscoring its opponents 16-8 on the young season and have produced 42 points against only 19 for their opponents. Eight different players have scored a goal through six games and 10 different players own a point for the Knights who rank fifth in the Skyline Conference in scoring average and fourth in the league in scoring margin.
A pair of seniors leads the offensive attack for the Knights, with
Destiny Ribadeneyra (Maybrook, N.Y.) and
Bridget McKeever (Wallkill, N.Y.) combining for 24 points. Ribadeneyra paces the team with five goals and 13 points, with McKeever totaling 11 points, including a tie for the team lead with Ribadeneyra in assists with three.
Sophomore
Theresa Stinson (Troy, N.Y.) sits third on the team in both goals (2) and points (5) with Ribadeneyra (2) and
Nicole Cavallo (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) (1) accounting for the team's game winning goals on the season.
Senior
Mary Riley (Newburgh, N.Y.) has started all six games in goal for the Mount and holds a 1.50 goals against average and an .800 save percentage. She has made 32 stops on the young season and ranks fourth in the conference in saves and goals against average and third in save percentage.
Last Time Out: The Knights were blanked for the third time this season on Saturday in a 2-0 loss at NYU. Riley made five stops in the contest, but the Violets outshot the Knights 15-4 and used a goal in each half to secure the victory.
A Look At Yeshiva: The Maccabees come to town sporting a 1-5 overall record and an 0-4 mark in league play. Yeshiva is coming off a 5-1 loss to Sarah Lawrence on Sunday and has dropped its last five outings since posting a 14-0 season opening victory over York.
Eliana Tuchman paces the Maccabees in scoring with six goals, four assists and 16 points, while Danielle Blicker has registered 12 points on the strength of five goals and a pair of helpers. Tuchmann is tied for fourth in the conference in both goals and points heading into Tuesday's tilt.
In goal, Yeshiva has used a pair of keepers with Rivka Lindenblatt and Gabriella Chutter each making three starts. Lindenblatt leads the team with 39 saves and a .709 save percentage in 311:32 of work.
Scouting Neumann: The Knights hold a 1-3 overall record heading into a CSAC clash with Cabrini on Wednesday. Neumann is coming off a 6-1 loss at Centenary on Saturday, with Jamie King scoring the team's lone goal in the contest.
Neumann is being outscored on the season 16-5 with five different players scoring at goal. Lindsay Padilla has scored a goal and added an assist, with Taylor German pacing the Knights with three helpers on the season. The duo is tied for the team lead in scoring with three points apiece.
Kristen Montgomery and Brittany Cullison has both seen significant time in goal for Neumann, with Cullison stopping a team-high 13 shots. Montgomery holds a 2.80 goals against average and a .632 save percentage for the Knights.
Previewing Pratt: The Cannoneers enter a Saturday tilt against Pine Manor with a 1-3 overall record, coming off a 1-0 win over Sarah Lawrence on Saturday. Andrea Poretta scored the game winning goal early in the second half and Morgan Holub posted the shutout in goal with 10 saves.
Pratt enters the weekend being outscored by its opponents 9-4 with four different players scoring a goal on the young season. Jen Klockner leads the team with three points on the strength of a goal and an assist.
Holub has seen all the game action in goal for Pratt and holds a .741 save percentage and a 3.50 goals against average while making 40 saves.
What's Next: Following a busy three game week, the Knights close out the four game home stand on September 28 with a non-conference date with John Jay. Kick-off at Kaplan Field is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
