Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Lacrosse team returns home to host league rival the College of Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday afternoon on Friends of Jaclyn Day. Katie Gattoni (Old Tappan, N.J.) led the scoring attack with a season-high nine points, while freshman
Mikaela Rios (Mastic, N.Y.) posted a career-high five points, including four goals. Gattoni led the team with seven draw controls, while
Amanda Picillo (Valley Stream, N.Y.) picked up the win in goal with 10 saves to go along with a team-high four groundballs.
Through the season's first five games, Gattoni leads the team in goals (18), assists (8), points (26) and draw controls (14) and has added five groundballs and three caused turnovers. Rios is second on the team with eight goals and has scored each of the Knights' two game winning markers.
Sophomore
Maggie Pedersen (Glasco, N.Y.) has scooped a team-high 12 groundballs and added five caused turnovers, with junior
Morgan Cordes (Sound Beach, N.Y.) leading the team in caused miscues with 10 to go along with 10 draw controls and 10 groundballs.
Amanda Clemens (Baldwin, N.Y.) has added 10 draw and has caused nine turnovers for the Knights.
Picillo has been steady in goal for the Knights, making 47 saves in 234:04 of work. She is second on the team with 11 groundballs and has caused four turnovers.
Carolyn Smith (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) has appeared in four games for the Knights and made seven saves.
Heading into the weekend, Gattoni leads the Skyline Conference in points per game (5.2) and sits second in assists per outing (1.6) and third in goals per contest (3.6). Cordes sits fourth in the league standings in caused turnovers per game (2.0), with Clemens ranking 10
th in the category (1.8). Picillo is fourth in save percentage (.470) and saves per game (9.4).

Scouting Mount Saint Vincent: The Dolphins come to town with a 1-6 overall record and a 0-1 mark in league play following a 9-8 loss to Maritime on Tuesday. Shannon Dalton scored three times in the loss with Courtney Latorre scooping three groundballs and winning four draw controls. Gabriella Marinese made 11 saves in goal.
Through seven games, Alicia Forgione paces Mount Saint Vincent with 11 goals, four assists, 15 points and 18 draw controls. She has added 15 groundballs and caused nine turnovers. Dalton is second on the team with 10 goals and 11 points.
Latorre is tops on the team in groundballs with 23 to go along with 13 draw controls with Meghan Hoban picking up 12 groundballs and causing nine miscues.
Marinese enters Saturday's tilt with 64 saves and holds am 11.14 goals against average and a .451 save percentage. She has picked up 12 groundballs and caused a pair of turnovers for the Dolphins.
Marinese ranks third in the Skyline Conference in goals against average and fifth in both saves per game (9.1) and save percentage. Latorre is second in the league in groundballs per game (3.2) and Forgione is 10
th in draw controls per outing (2.6).
Recent History: After dropping the first two games of the all-time series, the Knights have won each of the last five meetings, including a 19-4 road win last season.
