Box Score

THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – After going down five goals in the first seconds of the fourth quarter, the Mount Saint Mary College men's lacrosse team (3-7, 1-3 Skyline) managed to score five of the game's next six goals to go down by just a goal with 4:53 to play. However, they were unable to score the tying goal despite nine shot attempts in the final minutes, eventually falling to Maritime College (5-9, 1-3 Skyline), 11-10, Wednesday evening at Reinhart Field.

The game was tight through the first half, as Maritime only led by one at 6-5 going into the break. The Privateers took a 3-0 advantage in the third quarter to go up 9-5, and added another goal just 23 seconds into the fourth to go up by five. The Knights battled back later in the fourth, led by junior midfielder Jake Robison (Franklin Square, N.Y.), who scored three of the Knights' five fourth-quarter goals. The Knights' momentum was riding at its highest in the final minutes of the game, but the Knights ran out of time before they could tie the game.

Mike Arnold held on to earn the win for the Privateers, making 13 saves and allowing 10 goals. Junior goalkeeper Connor Haran (Massapequa, N.Y.) allowed 11 goals and made 12 saves in the barely-losing effort.

Dylan Larmony scored four goals and handed out two assists for a six-point game for the home team. Colin McCoy and Andrew Scalesi each picked up three points on two goals and an assist. Matt Hayes scooped up an impressive 16 ground balls and won 19-of-23 faceoffs.

Robison finished up with six points on four goals and a pair of assists for the Knights. Junior midfielder Henry Schof (Montgomery, N.Y.) scored two goals, the first two scores of the game, while junior midfielder David Hobbs (Baldwin, N.Y.) and sophomore midfielder CJ Cardo (Merrick, N.Y.) each scored and assisted one goal.

Maritime held a slight 38-34 edge in shots, but both teams were even with 23 shots on goal. Maritime scooped up 53 ground balls, while the Knights grabbed just 33. Maritime also won 19 of the game's 23 faceoffs.

The Knights return to action on Saturday, April 12, when they faceoff with Skyline Conference opponent Richard Stockton College at Kaplan Field. The game is set to begin at 2:30 p.m.
