NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College men's and women's swim teams both improved to 2-0 in the Skyline Conference and 3-1 overall with victories over the Sarah Lawrence College men's and women's swim teams Saturday afternoon in the Kaplan Center Pool. The Knight women defeated the Gryphon women, 113-87, while the Mount men beat the Sarah Lawrence men, 110-79.
Junior
Lauren Becerra (White Plains, N.Y.) had her usual successful outing on Saturday, picking up a pair of individual wins and being part of a third win in a relay. She swam the first leg of the women's 400-yard freestyle relay, helping the team of her, freshman
Rachael Stone (Wallingford, Conn.), sophomore
Regina Zeoli (Washingtonville, N.Y.) and sophomore
Jessica Daigle (Trumbull, Conn.) pick up the win with a time of 4:04.34. Becerra also notched victories in the 200-yard freestyle (2:05.46) and the 100-yard freestyle (58.38).
Each of the other three members of that relay had individual wins on the day as well. Stone touched first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:45.06. Zeoli won the 200-yard backstroke at 2:27.38. Daigle swam a time of 19:57.20 to win the 1,650-yard (one mile) freestyle.
The men started off their day with a victory in the 400-yard medley relay. The team of sophomore

Ryan Ward (Brooklyn, N.Y.) swam a time of 3:59.44 to pick up 11 points for the Knights.
Barber later won the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:43.61. Watson also grabbed an individual win in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:13.04. Freshman
Jake Schoenherr (Scarsdale, N.Y.) won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.31. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Schoenherr, senior

Ryan Verillo (Cheshire, Conn.) and sophomore
Camilo Gonzalez (Elmont, N.Y.) swam a time of 3:44.23 to pick up a win to close out the meet.
The Knights next swim on Saturday, Nov. 22 and Sunday, Nov. 23, when they participate in the Diamond City Invitational hosted by King's College (Pa.) in Scranton, Pa.
