Farmingdale Shuts Down Mount

Box Score FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – In a battle of 5-5 teams, Farmingdale State College defeated Mount Saint Mary College, 12-3, in Skyline Conference action on Saturday afternoon.  The Rams improve to 6-5 overall (3-0 Skyline), while the Knights drop to 5-6 (1-2 Skyline).

The Rams opened the game on an 8-0 run and kept the Knights off the scoreboard until senior Nick Findlay (Elmont, N.Y.) hit junior Matt O'Donnell (Wallkill, N.Y.) for a goal with 2:19 remaining in the opening half.

Farmingdale sophomore Matthew Finn (Huntington Station, N.Y.) scored the only goals of the third quarter, putting home three tallies to push the Rams advantage to 12-1.  Mount senior Andrew Pullen (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and junior Stephen White (Schenectady, N.Y.) each scored a fourth quarter goal to make the final tally, 12-3.

Findlay led the Knights with a pair of assists, while freshman defender Mike Hargraves (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) totaled seven groundballs and four caused turnovers.  The Knights struggled on faceoffs, winning just 4-of-18, and also suffered from 22 turnovers.

Sophomore Connor Haran (Massapequa, N.Y.) made eight saves in defeat.

The Knights return to action on Tuesday with a trip to Bryn Athyn College.  The game is set for a 4:30 p.m. start in Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania.
