CORTLAND, N.Y. - SUNY Cortland, ranked sixth nationally in the latest D3baseball.com poll, scored six runs in the first inning on its way to a 13-1 victory over Mount Saint Mary College on Tuesday afternoon.  The Red Dragons improve to 27-8 overall, while the Knights drop to 13-16.

Following a six-run first, Cortland added three runs in the fourth, one in the fifth, and three in the seventh for a 13-0 lead.  The Knights finally got on the board in the ninth, when freshman Matt Cahill (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) scored on an error.  Cahill had singled to lead off the inning and moved to second on a single from senior TIm Stauder (East Meadow, N.Y.).

Stauder recorded two of the Mount's six hits in a 2-for-4 effort.  Cahill finished 1-for-2 with the run scored.  Freshman starting pitcher Silverio Santiago (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) was tagged with the loss.

The Knights return to action on Friday with a home game against St. Joseph's Brooklyn.  Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. at Dutchess Stadium.
