KINGS POINT, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College baseball team rounds out its season with a split against Merchant Marine.
Game 1

Mount Saint Mary was already eliminated from playoff contention heading into the last series of the season, but the team was looking to go out on a high note.
Michael Pisseri got the start for the Knights and was looking to get his 5th win this season on the mound. Merchant Marine would get two runners on in the 1st, but Pisseri was able to get out of the inning. A lead-off double for
Aidan Marshall to center field put him in scoring position, and
Stephen Volk would score him two batters later on an RBI single.
The Mariners would not record a single hit until the bottom of the 4th, as this would be the only hit
Michael Pisseri would give up all game long.
Richard Lamping singled to lead off the 5th inning, followed by a beautifully laid sacrifice bunt from
Justin Stella to advance Lamping to second.
Christian Parisa singled to center field later in the inning to score Lamping and extend the Knights' lead to 2-0.
Michael Pisseri would lock in for the final three innings, not allowing a single base runner, and striking out five batters as part of a one-hit, no runs allowed pitching performance.
Stephen Volk added another RBI with a single to right field to score
Noah Anderson in the 7th inning to help Mount Saint Mary to a 3-0 win over Merchant Marine.

The Knights looked to steal a sweep from the Mariners with a win in game two, with
Peter Pappalardo getting the start. The Mount struck first in the top of the 2nd after a lead-off triple to center field from
Aidan Marshall.
Kaleb Morgan would hit an infield single to score Marshall, then Morgan scored on a passed ball later in the inning to put them up 2-0. Merchant Marine responded in the bottom half of the inning with a run of their own on a sacrifice fly to cut the Knights' lead to 2-1.
A big three-run inning for the Mariners in the bottom of the 4th allowed them to jump ahead to take a 4-2 advantage.
Gregory Harrison singled to center field in the next inning to get the Mount started.
Axel Martinez would double with two outs in the 5th to score Harrison to cut into the Mariners' lead to make it 4-3. Both teams' pitchers would lock in for the remainder of the game, as neither team got more than one runner on past the 5th inning. Merchant Marine was able to take game two from Mount Saint Mary by the final score of 4-3.
