Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary hosted St. Joseph's University Brooklyn for a weekday doubleheader. Dominick Cusumano took the mound for the Knights in game one, as he has emerged as one of the team's top pitchers during his freshman campaign. Christian Parisa got the first hit for the Mount in the bottom of the first as part of his 3 for 3 game. The Knights would load the bases after a singles from Kaleb Morgan and Anthony Voss and a couple of mistakes from the Bears. Unfortunately they were unable to come away with any runs after a double play. Brooklyn took advantage of three walks in the top of the 3rd, scoring four runs to take a 4-0 lead. Singles from Christian Parisa and Noah Anderson helped to load the bases for the Knights for the second consecutive inning. Kaleb Morgan would launch a grand slam home run to deep left field that would not only tie the game 4-4, but also break Head Coach Trevor Purcell's single-season home run record that has lasted since 2001 with his 7th of the season.

Dominick Cusumano would settle down after the 3rd, allowing just a single hit for the remainder of the game and no base runners in the final three innings. Singles from Aidan Marshall and Kaleb Morgan in the bottom of the 5th put runners in scoring position. With two outs, Anthony Voss would hit a clutch double to left center field to score Morgan and give the Mount a 5-4 lead. This run would give Mount Saint Mary just what they needed as they defeated St. Joseph's Brooklyn 5-4 in game one behind a complete game from Dominick Cusumano as he earns his first career win.
