THROGS NECK, N.Y. – Mount Saint Mary College senior
Michael Morelli (Washingtonville, N.Y.) hit four home runs on Sunday as his team split with Maritime College in Skyline Conference action. The Knights (4-6, 1-3 Skyline) dropped the opener, 11-8, but salvaged the split with a 14-6 win in game two.
In the opener, the Knights trailed 11-2 after six, mostly due to a seven-run inning from the Privateers in the fifth. The Mount tallied four runs in the top of the seventh, capped by a two-run homer from Morelli, but still trailed by five.
Following a scoreless eighth, the Knights attempted to rally in the ninth. Senior

The Privateers responded with four in the bottom of the first, but the Knights continued to score at will. McNoble laced a run-scoring single as part of a two-run second and Morelli's solo home run highlighted a three-run third. Freshman
Mike Leone (Staten Island, N.Y.) and junior
Chris Chieffo (Waterbury, Conn.) also recorded RBIs in the third.
