Box Score NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Behind a nine-point afternoon from sophomore
Jake Robison (Franklin Square, N.Y.), Mount Saint Mary College defeated Wells College, 21-2, to even up its record at 1-1 on the year.
The Knights led, 4-1, at the end of the first quarter and had pushed their advantage to 9-1 by halftime. The barrage of goals continued into the second half, as the Mount completed an 11-0 run to lead 15-1 with 5:21 remaining in the third quarter. Wells finally broke up the run with a tally at the end of the third, but the Knights tacked on sixth fourth-quarter goals for the 21-2 win.
Robison led the team with nine points on the strength of three goals and six assists. Other multiple point scorers included senior
Nick Findlay (Elmont, N.Y.), who finished with three goals and four assists, as well as junior
Stephen White (Schenectady, N.Y.), who totaled five goals. Sophomore
David Hobbs (Baldwin, N.Y.) added two goals and an assist, while junior
Matt O'Donnell (Wallkill, N.Y.) and sophomore
Henry Schof (Montgomery, N.Y.) each tallied a pair of goals.
The Knights return to action on Wednesday with another home game, this time against Alvernia University. The start time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
