NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College men's lacrosse team used a strong second half to take a 21-14 win over SUNY Canton on Thursday afternoon. With the win, the Knights even their season record, 6-6. SUNY Canton falls just below .500 with an overall record of 3-4.

CJ Cardo (Merrick, N.Y.) and
Jake Robison (Franklin Square, N.Y.) put them up, 2-0, in the opening seven minutes of the game. The Roos responded with their first of the game, as junior Pat Connelly (Chittenango, N.Y.) found the back of the net at the 7:15 mark. Robison and freshman
Dave Morris (Floral Park, N.Y.) combined for three more goals before the end of the quarter and the Knights held a 5-3 lead at the conclusion of the first.

Andrew Pullen (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and
Nick Findlay (Elmont, N.Y.) led the offensive effort in the second quarter, each scoring their first two goals of the afternoon. The Knights edged the Roos in the second quarter, 5-4, to push themselves up, 10-7, at the break.
Connelly opened up the third quarter with a goal that brought the Roos to within two, 10-8. The Knights followed with a 3-0 run, as Findlay and Pullen added two goals and one goal, respectively. SUNY Canton erupted for a 3-0 run of their own to close out the third quarter to pull to within three, 16-13.
After a SUNY Canton goal at the 13:15 mark in the fourth, the Knights put the game out of reach with a 4-0 run. Robison scored three consecutive goals in the span of seven minutes, while sophomore
Matt O'Donnell (Wallkill, N.Y.) closed out the scoring off a feed from Findlay.
Robison recorded a career-high, eight points (6G,2A), while Findlay added ten points (3G, 7A). Pullen scored five goals in addition to grabbing nine groundballs. Morris led the defensive effort, causing three turnovers. Sophomore goalie
Shawn Cobstill (Oneonta, N.Y.) made eight saves to earn the win in net.
Freshman Trevor Roundpoint (Rooseveltown, N.Y.) scored a team-high four goals, while classmate Jason Thompson (Massapequa, N.Y.) also tallied four points (3G,1A). Connelly finished with two goals and three assists and sophomore goalie Corey Spuck (Rochester, N.Y.) added 15 saves in the loss.
The Knights return to Skyline Conference action, as they travel to the College of Mount Saint Vincent. Set to start at 7:00 p.m., the game will be played at Tibbetts Brook Park.
