NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's lacrosse team posted the the program's first win over Ramapo College with a 10-6 decision on Wednesday afternoon. With the win the Knights advance to 6-9 on the year and 3-4 in Skyline play, while the Roadrunners fall to 5-8 overall and 2-6 in the Skyline.

Kaileen Spadaro (Islip, N.Y.) quickly gave the Knights a 2-0 lead, scoring back-to-back goals in the opening four minutes of play. Behind goals by Mount sophomore

Erica Massmann (West Babylon, N.Y.) the Knights extended their lead to five with just over 17 minutes to play.
Ramapo junior Amanda Ferry (Gloucester City, N.J.) finally got the Roadrunners on the board at the 9:05 mark, however Massmann followed with her second of the day to maintain the five goal cushion. Ferry netted one more in the closing minute of the half to cut the score to 6-2 at the break.
Seven minutes into the second half, Ramapo junior Adrianna Tepedino (Freehold, N.J.) brought the Roadrunners to within three, 6-3, with an unassisted tally. The Knights deposited on the next two free position opportunities, as Massmann and classmate
Nicole Palmieri (East Northport, N.Y.) scored to push their lead to five, 8-3.
With under ten minutes to play, Ramapo netted back-to-back goals in a one minute span to pull to within three, 9-6. Up by three, Spadaro finished a feed from freshman
Ela Igdeler (Islip, N.Y.) at the 4:36 mark to insure the win.
Spadaro tallied four goals to lead the Knights, while Massman followed with three goals. Igdeler added three assists and the Knights received lone goals from Krupka, Giarrizzo and Palmieri. In goal, freshman
Lauren Beltrami (Islip, N.Y.) made eight saves to earn the win.
Tepedino led the Roadrunners with three goals, while Ferry added two goals. Freshman goalkeeper Reagan Vier (Mahwah, N.J.) stopped six shots in the loss.
In their regular season finale, the Mount travels to Mount Saint Vincent for a Skyline Conference match-up. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
