Women Win Two, Men Split in Dual Meet

NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's swimming team walked away with two wins, while the men's team split in tonight's double-dual meet against SUNY College at Old Westbury and SUNY Delhi Broncos. On the women's side, the Mount posted a 72-23 win over the Panthers and a 74-15 victory over SUNY Delhi. The men fell short against the Panthers, 49-45, but came away with a 57-30 decision over the Broncos. With just one home meet remaining, the women are now 8-3 overall and the men move to 6-5.

Four women captured at least one individual meet for the Knights and senior Censi Danner (Saugerties, N.Y.) recorded a new school record in the 100 butterfly. Danner's time of 1:02.68, broke a record (1:04.15) set in 2005 by Morgan Schultz. Freshman Meghan Seaman (Staten Island, N.Y.) continued her impressive rookie campaign with a win in the 1000 freestyle (12:15.26). Junior Brianna Perazella (Chesire, Conn.) took first place in the 100 backstroke (1:11.71), while sophomore Ellen Slocum (Chatham, N.Y.) raced to first in the 200 freestyle (2:37.41) and 500 freestyle (7:07.90).

On the men's side, senior Enrique Naudy (Monroe, N.Y.) excelled in his final home meet. Naudy won the 1000 freestyle (12:21.02), outpacing the field by two minutes and thirty seconds.  In addition to his win in the 1000 freestyle, Naudy captured the 200 freestyle (1:55.31) and the 100 breaststroke (1:04.72).

The sophomore duo of Mark Bohlinger (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) and Conor Dowd (Massapequa, N.Y) also recorded individual event wins. Bohlinger took first in the 50 freestyle (24.15) and Dowd's time of 6:05.83 earned him the win in the 500 freestyle.

The Mount women will compete in their final home meet of the season on Saturday, January 28. The Knights will face St. Joseph's College in a Skyline Conference meet that is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
