UNION, N.J. - The Mount Saint Mary College women's lacrosse team fell to Skyline Conference opponent Kean University 17-3 on Saturday afternoon. The loss moves the Knights to 0-6 on the season and 0-2 in Skyline play. Kean improves to 2-4 overall and 2-0 in Skyline play.

Ellen Cashin (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.) netted an unassisted tally just four minutes into the game to give the Knights their first and only lead of the game. Cougar freshman Ciara Mastrodomenico got Kean on the board at the 24:34 mark and ignited a 16-0 run that carried into the second half of play. The Cougars established a 12-1 lead going into halftime.
The Mount buckled down on defense in the second half and limited to the Cougars to five goals. Freshman
Erica Massmann (West Babylon, N.Y.) scored off a feed in transition from classmate
Nicole Palmieri (East Northport, N.Y.) with just 3:34 remaining in the game to break the scoring drought. Freshman
Molly Bauer (Levittown, N.Y.) converted a free position shot with just 12 seconds left in the game to account for the Knights' third goal.
Bauer led the team with one goal, two draw controls and two caused turnovers. Cashin, Palmieri and sophomore
Sharon Cranwell (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) recorded two draw controls each. Freshman
Mary Greenlese (Dover Plains, N.Y.) and junior
Emily Folino (Staten Island, N.Y.) both saw time in net and combined for four saves.
The Knights look to rebound quickly when they travel to Saint Joseph College on Monday. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
