Mount Falls in Regular Season Finale

NEWARK, N.J. - Despite 10 saves from sophomore goalkeeper Matt Darling (Staatsburg, N.Y.), the Mount Saint Mary College men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Rutgers-Newark in non-conference action on Monday.  The Knights are now 7-9-1 overall.

Rutgers-Newark got on the board in the 41st minute when freshman forward Patryck Dawidczyk scored after collecting a loose ball in the right side of the box.  The Scarlet Raiders would add an insurance goal late in the second half when junior Nick Kyprianou put home a cross from Daniel Naranjo.

Junior Christian Redl (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) recorded two of the four shots on goal for the Knights.

Currently in sixth place in the Skyline, Mount Saint Mary must await the results of a conference game between Maritime and Purchase to learn of their postseason fate.  The Knights will qualify for the conference tournament with a Maritime victory or tie.
