FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - Freshman
Kaileen Spadaro (Islip, N.Y.) scored three times as the Mount Saint Mary College women's lacrosse team fell in a Skyline Conference game to Farmingdale State College, 25-6. The Knights are now 3-4 overall (1-2 Skyline) and the Rams are 5-3 overall (4-1 Skyline).
The Rams rushed out to a 3-0 advantage, but Mount Saint Mary junior
Ellen Cashin (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.) netted an unassisted goal at the 22:52 mark to bring the Knights back to within two. It would be as close as they would get, however, as Farmingdale reeled off the next ten goals to lead 13-1.
Spadaro finished with three goals on ten shots. Cashin found the back of the net twice, while freshman
Catherine Conde (Bloomingburg, N.Y.) scored the only other goal for the Knights.
For the Rams, junior Justine Rothar (Levittown, N.Y.) scored six times and was credited with eight assists, breaking a pair of Farmingdale records in the process. Rothar broke the single-game record for assists and points.
Up next for the Knights is a date with Sage. Mount Saint Mary will host the Gators on Monday, April 12 in a 7:00 p.m. start.
