HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Outshot 66-17, the Mount Saint Mary College men's lacrosse team lost a non-conference game to Centenary College on Saturday, 19-4. The Knights dropped to 2-8 on the season.
A back-and-forth first quarter saw the Cyclones claim a 5-3 lead at the first horn. A man-up goal by freshman
Andrew Pullen (Farmingdale, N.Y.) with 42 seconds to play in the quarter brought the Knights to within two. Unfortunately fore the Mount, Centenary would score fourteen of the final fifteen goals to capture a 19-4 victory.
Freshman
Nick Findlay (Elmont, N.Y.) racked up three points of the day, tallying two goals and an assist. Pullen had a goal and was 12-for-24 on face-offs. Sophomore
Patrick Byrne (Milford, Conn.) scored the only other goal for the Knights.
For Centenary, freshman Robert Nuzzolese (Woodbury, N.Y.) scored a game-high five goals and freshman Chris White (Middle Township, N.J.) added four tallies. Freshman Conor Nolan (Hillsborough, N.J.) found the back of the net twice and dished out seven assists.
Mount Saint Mary hits the road again for their next scheduled contest. They'll take on Morrisville State College on Wednesday, April 21 at 4:00 p.m.
