NEWBURGH, NY – Behind two individual event victories each by sophomore
Annie Parodi (Warwick, N.Y.) and sophomore
Christina Gulotta (Howell, N.J.), the Mount Saint Mary College women's swimming team defeated Sarah Lawrence College, 106-92. The Blue Knights improved to 2-2 on the young season.
Gulotta captured both the 200 freestyle and the 100 freestyle, winning each race by a wide margin. She completed the 200 in 2:13.67, more than eighteen seconds faster than the nearest competitor, and the 100 in 1:01.93, more than 10 second faster than the second place finisher.
Parodi earned a victory in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:10.01. She was also victorious in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:16.89.
Junior Liz D'Angelo (Fishkill, N.Y.) was a winner in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:23.93. Freshman
Laura Condon (Syracuse, N.Y.) took the 200 individual medley in 2:45.66.
Next up for the Mount is a trip to King's College on November 22. The meet is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start and is the final race before the ECAC Division III Championships, held the first weekend in December.
