Faith Welsh of the women's soccer team was named to the Skyline All-Conference First Team, and sophomore midfielder
Kaitlyn Shotter, senior forward
Lily Tanko, and senior midfielder
Kaitlin Hansen were named to the Skyline All-Conference Second Team as announced by the league office Friday afternoon.
Welsh has had the best season of her career so far and was recognized by her peers as one of the top defenders in the Skyline. She finished the regular season with a career-best 7 goals, 6 assists, 20 points, and 1 game-winning goal. Welsh led the Knights in minutes played with 1,562 and was 1 of 6 players to appear in and start all 18 games this season. Even as an outside back, she still managed to be third on the team in goals, assists, and points.
Shotter's freshman campaign was nothing short of magnificent, earning her Second Team All-Conference honors in her first season with the Knights. She led all freshmen on the team in scoring with 5 goals and 5 assists for 15 points, and was second in minutes played with 1,275. Shotter was not only one of the best first-year players, but also one of the best overall players in the Skyline.
Tanko is one of the driving forces of the Knights' offense, having a career-best year in goals and overall scoring. She has 9 goals, 3 assists, and 21 points so far this season, good for second on the team. Tanko also recorded a career-high 1,274 minutes played at striker for the Knights, leading the charge up front.
Hansen not only led the Knights in goals, assists, and scoring, but also finished the regular season first in the Skyline in overall scoring with 28 points and second in goals with 10, assists with 8, and game-winning goals with 3. She has career-bests in all 4 categories, even though she has played a career-low 17 games and 1,175 minutes.
