Box Score MAHWAH, N.J. - After winning the opening set, the Mount Saint Mary College women's volleyball team lost each of the next three sets to fall to Ramapo College in non-conference action on Wednesday evening in Mahwah. The Knights fall to 0-5 overall, while the Roadrunners improve to 1-3.
The Mount raced out to a 25-19 first set win, thanks in large part to a .219 team hitting percentage. But the success would be short-lived, as the kill and error totals evened out in set two, resulting in a 25-19 loss. Ramapo committed just four errors in each of the final two sets on its way to 25-21 and 25-20 set victories.
For the Knights, sophomore
Kaitlin O'Brien (Staten Island, N.Y.) posted a team-high 12 kills to go along with six aces and 13 digs. Freshman
Kristen Maddock (Medford, N.Y.) totaled 30 assists, while sophomore
Jen Gries (Hicksville, N.Y.) racked up a match-best 23 digs.
Mount Saint Mary will look to pick up its first win of the season this weekend as the Knights play host to York College and Kean University in a Saturday tri-match.
