BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Mount Saint Mary College softball team totaled 67 runs on 64 hits in two wins over Sarah Lawrence College on Wednesday. The Knights (7-7) won the opening game, 43-1, and the second game, 24-0.
In the opener, the Knights plated 10 runs in the first, 11 in the second, eight in the third, and 14 in the fourth. Senior Ashley Schrippa (Staten Island, N.Y.) and sophomore
Stephanie Karcher (Oxford, Conn.) each launched grand slams in the fourth inning. Karcher also homered in the second inning, one of five round-trippers for the Mount. Junior

Karcher finished 5-for-6 with six runs scored and nine RBIs, while Schirripa went 6-for-7 with four runs scored and eight RBIs. Moran went 6-for-6 with six runs scored and three RBIs. Junior pitcher
Amanda Barrese (Staten Island, N.Y.) allowed five hits and one earned run to earn the win for the Knights.
The story was the same in game two, as the Knights tallied seven runs in the first, four in the second, and then 11 in the third. Peel ripped a three-run homer in the second inning, Karcher hit a solo shot in the fourth inning, and sophomore
Danielle Soto (Miller Place, N.Y.) cleared the fence with a solo homer in the fifth.
Peel finished 5-for-5 with three runs scored and six RBIs, while Karcher and Moran eached racked up four hits apiece. Freshman

Victoria Goldbach (Middle Village, N.Y.) allowed just one hit while striking out 11 to earn the victory.
Following the Easter break, Mount Saint Mary returns to action against Lehman on Wednesday, April 3. The games are set for 4:00 p.m. in New York City.
