HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Mount Saint Mary College men's soccer team (12-5-3) gave it everything it had in its first-ever NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship, but was ultimately defeated by No. 7 York College of Pennsylvania (18-2-1), 1-0, on an overtime golden goal in the 92nd minute of their first round matchup at Stevens Institute of Technology. The loss ends the season for the Skyline Conference Champion Knights.

York's Tobi Iguade redirected a corner kick from Jake Hower past Knights' senior goalkeeper Matt Darling (Staatsburg, N.Y.) to advance the Spartans, the Capital Athletic Conference champions, to the second round where they'll face off with host Stevens tomorrow.

Darling played the game of his life on Saturday, making save after save and preventing Spartan shots left and right. He made seven saves and faced 23 total shots, but ultimately suffers the loss. York keeper Brad Schmidt needed two saves to pick up the shutout victory.

The Knights' put a big scare in the heavily-favored Spartans, coming close to taking the lead multiple times in the final minutes of regulation. The Knights season comes to an end with a 12-5-3 overall record and the team's first-ever Skyline title. The Knights set a precedent for the program this season, and will look to improve upon their impressive results in the 2014 campaign.
