Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary was looking for a much-needed win against St. Joseph's Long Island, as the Knights currently hold the 7th seed in the Skyline.
Noah Horn would stop the first shot he saw for the Mount as he has been great between the pipes for the Knights all season. The Golden Eagles opened up the scoring in the 38th minute as they took a 1-0 lead. Moments later, they would find the back of the net yet again, this time on a penalty kick. Mount Saint Mary headed into the half down 2-0, as they needed a big response in the final 45 minutes of play.
Marco Mazzarelli and
Ryan Kieser had a couple of chances for the Knights in the early portion of the second half, but were not able to get anything past the Golden Eagles' defense. Long Island extended its lead to 3-0 in the 65th minute as the Mount found themselves in a tough situation to come back from. This was the first time all season Mount Saint Mary has given up more than 2 goals in a game. The Knights simply could not find an answer to the St. Joe's offense as they fell to the Golden Eagles 4-0.
