Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary was hoping that their result today against St. Joseph's Brooklyn would allow them into the Skyline Postseason. The Knights dominated from the opening whistle, as they outshot the Bears 28-5 and 18-2 on goal. It took the Mount a little while to feel out the St. Joe's defense, but in the 23rd minute,
Quinn Tynan would find
Ryan Kieser to open up the scoring for the Knights. Tynan nearly found the back of the net himself just minutes later as his shot hit the left post and then was redirected off the keeper. He would continue to dish out great passes, this time finding
Marco Mazzarelli to extend the Knights' lead to 2-0.
Coming out of the half, Mount Saint Mary would continue their aggressive style of play. In the 64th minute, the floodgates would open, starting with
TJ Mark notching the team's third goal of the match off a pass from
Marco Mazzarelli. 46 seconds later, Mazzarelli would be assisted on a goal by
Quinn Tynan and
Ryan Kieser to make it 4-0. Then, in the 67th minute, Mark found the back of the net off a shot from Mazzarelli that was saved. Just 4 minutes later, Mark would be in the right place at the right time, easily converting a goal off a ball that deflected off the Bears defender after their keeper tried to clear the ball. The Knights scored 4 goals in just the span of 7 minutes, to take a commanding 6-0 lead. The goal scoring did not stop there as
Matthew Meagher found
Jack Hoffman for the Mounts' 7th goal of the game as they capped off a 7-0 victory.
