NEWBURGH, N.Y. - The Mount Saint Mary College men's soccer team posted their second straight six goal performance, posting a 6-1 decision over SUNY College at Old Westbury on Saturday afternoon. The Knights even their record at 4-4 overall and they move to 1-0 in Skyline play. With the loss the Panthers are still searching for their first win of the season, slipping to 0-9 on the year and 0-1 in the conference.
In the 30th minute of play an Old Westbury foul lead to a Mount free kick from the left side of the field, which led to a scramble in the box. Mount freshman
Alex Tolman (Poughkeepsie, N.Y) collected the loose ball and finished to put the Knights up, 1-0. The Mount added their second goal just five minutes before halftime, as junior
Brandon Mincher (Bayport, N.Y.) was converted a penalty kick opportunity, following a foul in the box.

Matt Pagano (Mahopac, N.Y.) added two goals in a span of less than one minute. Pagano scored his first of the day, as he headed in a corner kick off the foot of teammate
Sean Lockwood (Manahawkin, N.J.). Thirty seven seconds later Tolman weaved through Old Westbury defenders and dished the ball off to Pagano, who then finished to give the Knights a 4-0 lead.
With 51 minutes elapsed in the game, a foul by a Mount defender put Old Westbury freshman Dan Giorgi (Massapequa, N.Y.) at the penalty kick line. Giorgi beat goalkeeper
Matt Darling (Staatsburg, N.Y.) to spoil the shutout.
After a string of three quick goals, the Knights added their fifth of the day just one minute after Giorgi's penalty kick. Pagano played a free kick into the box and junior
Sean Barton (Wallkill, N.Y.) one touched the ball into the right side of the goal. In the 56th minute, Barton turned with the ball in the box and directed it towards the goal, where Lockwood slid in and deposited the ball into the net for the Knights sixth and final goal.
Darling earned two saves in the win, while Old Westbury junior goalkeeper Marcelo Guardado (Huntington Station, N.Y.) made five saves on the day.
The Knights return to action on Wednesday, September 26, as they host the College of Mount Saint Vincent. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
