Box Score BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Mount Saint Mary College outscored the Polytechnic Institute of NYU, 49-27, in the second half of Thursday night's Skyline Conference game on their way to an 82-52 victory in Brooklyn.  The Knights have now won six games in a row to move to 19-5 overall (14-3 Skyline).

Leading by just three as the clock ticked towards halftime, the Knights got a bucket from sophomore Donte Howell (Baldwin, N.Y.) and a three-pointer from sophomore Joe Stabach (Staten Island, N.Y.) to close the half on a 5-0 run and make the score at the break, 33-25.  

Mount Saint Mary continued the run in the second half, scoring nine of the first ten points.  Stabach's jumper with 17:14 to play pushed the Knight advantage to 16 at 42-26.  Then, leading by 17 with 8:18 remaining, the visitors ripped off a 15-0 run to put the game away.  A jumper from junior Chris Frey (Old Brookville, N.Y.) with 3:54 on the clock capped the run and made the score 74-42.

Mount senior Carlos Valdez (Carolina, Puerto Rico) led all scorers with 21 points and completed his 17th double-double of the season with 13 rebounds.  Stabach finished with 13 points and five boards, while senior Kevin Milella (Floral Park, N.Y.) turned in another solid performance with 11 points and eight rebounds.  Sophomore Chris Pisciotta (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) also reached double figures with 10 points.

The Knights close out their regular season on Saturday in a showdown with Farmingdale State College.  Mount Saint Mary currently trails the Rams by a game in the race for second place in the Skyline Conference.  The winner of Saturday's game will serve as the second seed in the upcoming conference tournament.  Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Kaplan Center.
