ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Juniors Donte Howell (Baldwin, N.Y.) and Joe Stabach (Staten Island, N.Y.) combined for 33 points on Friday afternoon as Mount Saint Mary College defeated St. Lawrence University, 61-47, in the opening of the Chuck Resler Tournament at the University of Rochester.  The Knights advance to play in tomorrow's championship game.

Howell hit on 7-of-16 from the field for a team-high 17 points and also dished out five assists.  Stabach shot 7-for-15 from the floor to finish with 16 points.  Junior Joe Henain (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) added seven points and posted a team-high nine rebounds.

St. Lawrence senior Kyle Miller (Central Square, N.Y.) led the Saints with 19 points.  Junior Payton Stahler (Canajoharie, N.Y.) added seven points and a game-high 10 rebounds.

The Mount will play the winner of this evening's other first round game between the University of Rochester and the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
