BRONX, N.Y. - In non-conference action on Tuesday evening, the Mount Saint Mary College softball team split a double-header with Lehman College. The Knights (14-18) won game two by a score of 13-0 after falling in game one, 2-1.
In game two, Mount Saint Mary managed 13 runs despite recording just six hits. The Knights led 6-0 into the fifth inning and then plated seven more runs with the help of four walks, a hit-batsmen, and three errors. Freshman pitcher
Caitlin Maynes (Miller Place, N.Y.) went the distance, allowing just four hits and striking out twelve.

Danielle Sedia (Bronx, N.Y.) finished the second game 1-for-4 with two runs batted in and a run scored. Senior
Christine DelPiano (Orange, Conn.) was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and 2 RBIs. Her solo home run to left field highlighted the fourth inning.
In game one, the Knights left eleven runners on base, ten of which were in scoring position. Mount Saint Mary managed their only run of the contest when Sedia scored on a double steal in the third inning.
Maynes struck out ten and allowed just one earned run to keep the Knights in the game, but the bats would not respond. The Lighting scratched out single runs in the first and fourth frames, good enough for an eventual 2-1 victory.
In their next scheduled contest, Mount Saint Mary will host John Jay on Thursday, April 22. The twinbill is set for a 3:30 p.m. start.
