TROY, N.Y. – To remain unbeaten in Skyline Conference play, the Mount Saint Mary College women's volleyball team defeated the Sage Colleges on Wednesday evening in straight sets (25-17, 25-17, 29-27). The Knights have now won eight consecutive matches to improve to 11-7 overall and to 5-0 in the Skyline.
It was a big night for senior
Elizabeth Douress (Rahway, N.J.), who has been smashing records for the past week. Recently becoming the career record holder for consecutive matches played (113), matches played (113), and sets played (374), Douress tallied two blocks against the Gators to break another all-time record. Douress surpassed Katie Mayer '07 for the career blocks record and now has 194 during her four-year career.
Junior
Jacqueline Nadeau (Uniondale, N.Y.) led the way for the Knights with a team-high 11 kills to go along with nine digs. Sophomore
Lauren Halverson (Patchogue, N.Y.) totaled 34 assists, three aces, and five digs, while junior
Heather Schaeffer (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) added a team-high 14 digs. Freshman
Kaylene Pennings (Minisink, N.Y.) racked up nine kills and a team-high three blocks.
For Sage, senior Cheryce Harvey (Utica, N.Y.) had 15 digs with a kill for the Gators, while freshman setter Joanie Cooney (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) added 18 assists with nine digs and a pair of service aces. Freshman hitter Gina Cerutti (Scotia, N.Y.) tallied six kills with eight digs.
The win was also the 100th career victory for head coach

Mount Saint Mary travels to Farmingdale State College for a pair of Skyline Conference matches on Saturday. The Knights will take on Farmingdale at noon and St. Joseph's College at 2:00 p.m.
