FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – While shooting just 31-percent from the field and committing 22 turnovers, the Mount Saint Mary College men's basketball team lost to Farmingdale State College, 68-48, on Saturday. The Blue Knights slipped to 6-9 overall (5-5 Skyline), while the Rams improved to 6-7 overall (6-2 conference).

Farmingdale never trailed in the contest, but the game had a few nervous moments for the Rams in the second half. Trailing by twelve in the early minutes of the second half, Mount Saint Mary junior Tim Morris (Greenwich, N.Y.) put home a jumper to cut the lead to ten. After a Farmingdale turnover, freshman Dylan McCann (Staten Island, N.Y.) knocked down a three-pointer to make it a seven-point game. Again, Farmingdale came up empty, allowing the Blue Knights a chance to get even closer, but a jumper from freshman Lenny Ragaglia (Staten Island, N.Y.) wouldn't fall. The Rams scored the next five points to erase the mini-run by the Mount.

A little bit later in the second, after Farmingdale had pushed their advantage to fifteen, Mount Saint Mary rallied with an 11-3 run to cut it back to seven. Freshman Eric Boesch (Kingston, N.Y.) canned back-to-back triples for the Mount, making the score 43-36 with a 10:27 remaining. The Blue Knights hung around for the next few minutes, but couldn't get any closer than seven. Farmingdale eventually pulled away down the stretch and finished with a twenty-point win.

The Mount never found any rhythm at the offensive end of the floor and shot just 30.6-percent for the contest. Morris was the only player to reach double figures for the Blue Knights and finished with 10. Sophomore Kevin Milella (Floral Park, N.Y.) and freshman Chris Frey (Old Brookville, N.Y.) each had 9 points.

Farmingdale didn't shoot the ball particularly well either (35.1-percent), but the Rams were aided by a staggering 27 offensive rebounds. Junior Nikita Davis (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored a game-high 18 points, while senior Terrence Howard (Queens, N.Y.) and junior Shahee Martin (Queens, N.Y.) each chipped in with 11. As a team, Farmingdale made 10-of-22 attempts from behind the arc.

Back at the .500 mark in the conference once again, Mount Saint Mary faces an important Skyline game with Purchase College. The Blue Knights will host the Panthers (6-3 Skyline) on Thursday, January 21 beginning at 7:00 p.m.
