STATEN ISLAND, NY – Boosted by their second highest ace total of the season (16), the Mount Saint Mary College women's volleyball team swept the College of Staten Island last night (25-10, 25-21, 25-10). The Blue Knights improved to 12-9 overall.
Freshman
Mary Ann Raftery (Long Beach, N.Y.) served up a team-high 6 aces and also contributed 4 kills and a team-high 14 digs. Junior
Elizabeth Douress (Rahway, N.J.) finished with a team-high 8 kills while senior
Katie Toole (Wallkill, N.Y.) tallied 28 assists.
Mount Saint Mary pushed their overall record to three games above .500 for the first time since the Blue Knights opened the 2005 season with three consecutive victories.
Up next for Mount Saint Mary are Skyline Conference matches with Polytechnic and Sage. Both matches will take place on Saturday at Polytechnic.
